About Cortney

My name is Cortney Pearson. I am a writer, a musician, and the mother of three adorable troublemakers. I'm attempting to get a young adult book published, and in the meantime, I teach music lessons! I have a degree in English Literature from BYU-Idaho, with a minor in Music. I studied clarinet for 16 years and taught private lessons for three years. In high school I won first place in the Idaho State Solo Competition, and I was second chair in the BYU-Idaho Symphony Orchestra. I also had the opportunity to be first chair in the Rexburg Tabernacle Orchestra, and I enjoy playing with the Burley Philharmonic now.

I have also been playing the piano since I was seven years old, and I've had multiple opportunities to accompany others, play hymns in church, and enjoy the pleasure of playing in my own home. I have taught private lessons in Rexburg before moving to Burley. Piano is such a valuable skill to have and can come into play in so many different situations, and I look forward to sharing that skill!
